The possibility that a candidate could proclaim within 35 days of the election that a woman can shut down her reproductive system if she is really truly raped. Things change. 35 days is far too much time in advance. It sounds like you'd favor a system where one could vote at any time after nomination. IOW a system producing votes prior to the contest.
Please don't try and presume to know what I favor.

Todd Akin made his "legitimate rape" comment on August 19, 2012. He led in every single poll, but one which was tied, from January 2012 - August 20, 2012. After that date he trailed in every poll but one. LINK
Imagine if something similar happened within 35 days of an election.
