It's hard to disagree. It's shocking to think that 2014's defense is comprised of many of the same players from 2013. I guess it only took the league one year to figure out Rob Ryan with the Saints.

However, as bad as the defense has been, I might be more surprised with the offense. Last night it seemed like the Cowboys hit wide open guy after wide open guy, while the Saints receivers seem to have 2-3 defenders in the area every time a ball came their way. That never seemed to happen so consistently in years past. And this wasn't Seattle's defense, but an average Cowboys group.

Rarely do I buy into preseason hype, but I genuinely thought this was a real Super Bowl contender before the season started. Now, it's hard to imagine that the Saints will even have a winning record this season.

In 1993, the Saints started 5-0 and looked fantastic then went to Pittsburgh and got completely embarrassed. Jim Mora's Saints would never be the same and would never come close to being a playoff contender again.

That's what Sunday felt like.

Agreed. Let's hope for a little different outcome. I still have faith in Sean to keep the offense above average. That shold get us a few wins and he will have to keep churning through defensive coordinators. Maybe Dennis Allen would like a DC job in a few months.
