"Bruce Lee was awesome. Absolutely awesome. He was fast as lightning, hit like a heavyweight. Great foot work, great defense, great offense and smart. The man was a true genius in martial arts.He could been world lightweight champion if he so chose. He was that good." - Bob Wall, Karate Champion in Black Belt interview 1994

"I've seen a lot of martial artists over the years, but Bruce Lee was the best. I was much older than Bruce when we met, but I was very experienced. Still, I could never touch him. He was so damn fast." - Jhoon Ree, Father of American Taekwondo

You can also add that Chuck Norris called him up for instruction.

That's great and all, but someone can look like the greatest ever in practice, but being IRL situations always changes things.

Not saying he wouldn't have been successful, but we can never truly say now can we?

All we have to go off of is Hollywood video and speculation.

Of course, neither of these were biased to try to get what was then an extremely marginal sport any kind of publicity. Pumping Lee's nads was a sure fire way to do it.

For being this all-time bad-arse, he sure didn't go out of his way to ever put his reputation on the line.
