No way you can call it play off with only 4 teams

How quickly the season ends for teams like LSU and Wisconsin and the rest of regular season becomes meaningless (I know three is miracle possibilities). We need at least 8 teams with 6 getting byes and 4 playing for the final 2 spots. Just saying to get you mind off Miles offense.

4 is more than the previous 2

4-team "playoff" is the way to go, but going to a selection committee was just retarded. Should've just kept the BCS formula.
And our playoff chances aren't over by a long shot if we somehow learn how to football..

You don't like condoleeza rice picking teams?

I'd be in favor of 6 teams. Every power conference would have a chance to participate (but a particularly weak champion could still be left out). There would also be an incentive to play for the top 2 spots, with byes in play.

Everybody gets a trophy. Kind of like pee wee football.

Keep the BCS formula and just have Condoleeza replace both the AP and Coaches' polls imo. problem solved.

frick that noise. 4 is fine.
Where is it going to end ? A 64 team playoff with a play in game ?
This ain't fricking little league. Not everyone needs a trophy.

You could have 3 best teams in the same conference and you will not have them in the play off with 4 teams. Also, nobody can tell which top 10 team is the best at the end of season unless they play it off. Currently, preseason rankings and schedule are big factors in selecting final 4.

I agree completely...a top secret selection comittee using top secret criteria to designate the teams that have a chance to progress is just too damn much for me to trust...

I can't think of a time when the best team wasn't in the top 4 of the BCS. I would've preferred BCS with 4 teams to select the playoff teams and semifinal matchups. The only part that you have to leave up to a committee is which semifinal is played where.

How do you know who is best if they don't play each other at the end of season. I am sure you thought Alabama was better than Utah and Oklahoma before they played in the Sugar Bowl.

What are we supposed to do ? Have a giant round robin where everyone plays everyone ?
