Do you not think that the fact LSU was down 16 points with 4:00 to go in the game had anything to do with the fact that LSU was in a "wide open" offense at that time?
Also, here's a newsflash. It's much "simpler" to make reads and throw out of a shotgun, 4 wide set, than it is to read and locate WRs out of the pocket coming from under center
