...but the call wasn't returned by their AD.

LINK

quote:

My three separate sources tell me that the next domino to fall is Brandon. He must go before any potential football coach can be approached as he totally botched the Hoke hire, never offering the gig to Miles or either Harbaugh. As a matter of fact, he never even returned calls to Les Miles when he was interested. In his mind Hoke was the only option from day one.

I wonder how much truth there is to this. This is on the MSB in a thread about their AD on the verge of getting canned, and I thought the Rant might appreciate it being posted here too.

ETA -- The radio guy apparently is from Pittsburgh, not Michigan, but he is a Michigan fan with apparent contacts at Michigan. I think the guy is probably full of crap, but he put it out there.

i would like to think if a coach played football at LSU, loved LSU, and one day was in a position to be a candidate at LSU, he would at least see what's up and what his option are.

people who act (predominantly in a state where being here/home is better than anywhere else) like he should have some loyalty to LSU over his alma mater doesn't make sense to me.

it's all "ME ME" thinking and refusal to look at the big picture or consider what may actually be important to someone else. I could live anywhere else in the world and LSU will always be home to me. why disregard someone's connection to a place?

Miles used Michigan, perhaps unintentionally, for a raise at LSU before. He later used Arkansas this way. Perhaps the AD has reason to think a phone call from Miles is raise-bait and doesn't want to waste his time participating in such a charade.

If you read the SI issue after LSu won the 2007 title game, Miles even says that he "made every effort to talk to them after the game" but it didn't happen.
