Wrong. The prevent or deep zone defense is specifically designed to negate the very type of deep throws that Harris and company succeeded at.

This is true, but you can't begin to compare those situations to the situations Jennings was put in last night, yet that's exactly what people are doing.


Harris did absolutely make the plays, but when a quarterback KNOWS he has time to see the field, it is MUCH easier for him to execute. INFINITELY so.

Take that gif on page 1 for example. That is a great throw by Harris, but against one of the most BASIC COVERAGES a quarterback can see. This is a throw that high school QB's practice making over and over... the soft spot in a cover 2 or 3 zone. Every quarterback KNOWS it's there, behind the linebackers and in front of the DB's.

I can't believe this is the overriding conversation on this board. Really speaks to some psychological phenomenon that LSU fans seem to have in finding their next Messiah.

I'm fine with people being excited about the future, and Harris might be the answer, but in no way can you make that determination based on the few plays we saw Sat. night.
