I-Form Twins - Miles formation for Qbs he doesnt' trust?

Thread from 2010 about this very issue
you could take that very thread, take out lee, and put in jennings and you'd sum up last night as well
last night i speculated that we're using this formation because jennings can't run a D and this is a simple way to diagnose man-zone more easily. i could be wrong, and i'm willing to listen to other suggestions
also, this shows that we're still running the "les miles" offense and not the [insert OC] offense
and moving forward, as i posted after the ULM game, we wasted that entire game working on offense. do y'all think we will waste the NMSU game as well? how often will we see i-form with 1-2 TE? how many times will we see twins?

seemed like every non-shotgun snap was i-form twins almost
and even in the shotgun, the playcalls heavily relied on lee passing to the 2-WR side

How often will we see Harris?

i'd imagine we can't have that discussion until we know if jennings is seriously hurt or not

Be happy that you can find your old threads. I almost got banned on 1/1/2014 griping about the offensive game plan without Mettenberger. Those posts were on the scoreboard after the game and forever gone. I decided not to press my luck once the Rant opened back up and let it go.

he likes to play power football. problem is out QB's are suited for the spread especially Harris. AJ is a gam manager with limited abilities. To fix this thing, Les has to get over himself and his desire to play Big 10 football in the SEC.

Should try this, might be a bit more spread then we've been

i don't agree with this meme
and, apparently, neither do you

sounds like he's anything but a "spread QB" (whatever that is)

Weird that nothing has really come out on that yet.
I think Mississippi State is an eye-opening loss, similar to Florida in 2012. The problem though is that the 2012 had a ton of talent and was easier to work with.
If Harris doesn't know the offense (assuming he's the guy going forward), then put him in an offense that he can succeed in. Let him roll out, let him run the zone read, let him chunk the ball a little bit.
Also, LSU won't face a good passing quarterback for a month. We need to play aggressive on defense and force turnovers and force offenses to take risks on us. We have to help the offense out in some way. Obviously the offense was bad, but when you're giving up 570 yards, that's not good either.
As silly as it may sound (because if it goes wrong it could be disastrous), I think we need to take chances and risks on both sides of the ball. Shake things up.

Jennings needs a fair chance to throw passes on downs that aren't obvious passing situations.

Miles loves him some i form normal and twins as well as some ace big packages.

I think it goes without saying that miles has trust issues with his QBs. And when he does we line in the I....all the fricking time.
Here's the bad part, if our Oline wouldn't play like hot garbage it wouldn't be a terrible thing.

Short memory? 1/9 as pretty terrible.
I'm glad it happened now rather than later

There are 7 TE and Fullbacks on the participation report from last night, and only one of them is even remotely an offensive threat.
There were 5 WR on the report.
Those numbers seem like they should be reversed to me.

i didn't think he was THAT hurt, but the radio guys in post-game were trying to turn it into a broken clavicle
could just be a stinger or something where it can recover and we're being quiet about it

we got our asses beaten by like the 2nd poorest football school in the SEC (behind only vandy)

here's how i see it
either the SHSU game was the real LSU team and the other 3 games are outliers, or we are a severely flawed football team
if we can make adjustments, we should try against NMSU...if that doesn't work, just say "frick it", know we're going to suck, and then just go balls out and try different things. i mean a 7-5 season is as bad as a 5-7 season
this is not how miles handles things. his entire philosophy is to avoid the floor (while sacrificing ceiling)

There were at least 3 or 4 throws last night where Jennings was delivering the ball before the receiver broke off his route (timing route).
That's advanced stuff. How many times did you see State doing that? Zero. And their quarterback is a lot better than what we have.
They're calling passing plays like we still have Mettenberger back there. It's pretty dumb. Run some crossing routes. Give him some rollouts and some easy throws. It's not that hard.
Jennings starts off every game with difficult throws that lead to incompletions, which leads to his confidence going down more than likely (except the SHSU game, but like SFP said maybe that was an outlier game entirely).

Not just a fluke loss, we were absolutely manhandled in all phases. That's the real concern IMO. We are physically weak and have no aggression or passion (that I've seen)

2011 made Les feel that he could sit on the ball for 2 quarters at a time and wait for the defense and/or special teams to ignite momentum. He really thought that Alabama played the same way. Bama was always way more balanced than us. They would pass early to keep you honest, then unleash Richardson, and then Yeldon the next year.

Goes to show how surgical Mett was on third down. Can we discuss that?
Somewhat not on topic...but how how hard would it have been for Dickson to put one foot down? Geez

I have a feeling that wanting to deal with a floor with this fanbase is easier said that done.
