I think the food at Gilhooley is pretty meh. For gulf oysters I could pick a dozen other places that are better. And I usually find TX oysters to be better than LA. However the dive bar atmosphere of the place is right up my alley.

Just opinion, but a Gulf oyster, January through March, taste better than most any other oyster I've had, PNW, Atlantic or Nova Scotia. Maybe I haven't had the others at their peak.
