It wasn't a force play. You can't make the last out at home. I'm sure he waited until the throw went to 1st to run.

As bbap said he was about a fourth of the way down, would've been a very close play
Again, I'm not saying the cardinals necessarily should've been given the run just that I wish there was a more concrete rule to determine it
