Just my personal uninformed opinion , graphite shafts will give some more distance with your irons and will benefit you if swing is good. A graphite shaft is a lil more flexible and can get out of control if your swing is not good.

My swing has declined in the last 2-3 years, mainly because of lack of playing. I saw no difference in my iron play with them but that is not saying much.
