Bio of the murderer:
"According to court documents she has bipolar disorder and endured a deeply troubled upbringing. Her mother became pregnant with her aged 13 after being raped by a family member. Coleman was physically and sexually abused by family members and grew up in foster care, where she may also have been sexually abused."

There is no compassion on this board for what this woman endured as a child herself? Not excusing what she did but these things do not occur in a vacuum. She was severely abused and the same society that condemned her to death did nothing to help her when she herself needed it. Justice my arse!

Yes, I have compassion for what she went through. I'm still glad she's dead though.

You are assuming someone knew of her abuse at the time.

Compassion and justice aren't mutually exclusive. At some point in adulthood, someone who has experienced abuse can choose to seek help. If they choose not to do so and instead choose to harm others, it's perfectly "compassionate" toward future potential victims to make sure she doesn't harm anyone else.
