If he has a cassette player in his car, a cassette adapter will sound much better than an fm transmitter.

In every vehicle I have attempted these two methods in, the FM way was always the clearer of the two options. I usually buy the cheapest adapter around, and it turns out just fine. Most recently, I bought one that has an iPhone cradle and fm transmitter. The transmitter functionality is great. The cradle broke, though, and functions only as a really oddly shaped FM transmitter.

You should try out the iSimple ones I posted earlier. It is so easy to install and works better than any cassette adapter or fm transmitter I have used before. And you can't even see it. Its pretty awesome.
