You can name an adopted dog whatever you want.

Just choose well. Don't get a dog that is described as "anxious". I've never met a very well-trained Yorkie anyway

You can rescue puppies.. or even just 1-2 year olds.

Yorkies in general aren't going to be the playful thing you're thinking. They're cutie and some of them are spunky/fun, but their temperament is not generally children-oriented.

Not saying you shouldn't get a Yorkie. Just saying that in general.

Well trained in behavior no, but they are smart as hell. Smartest dog I've ever had.

He will sit, stay, lay down, roll over, give me knuckles, high five, combat roll, several others.

He hides bones all over the house. He once hide a bone at some families house, we returned a year later and he darted as soon as we got in the house to go get the bone he put behind someones dresser.
