How bad is an 0-2 start?

Historically, an 0-2 start makes it really hard to get into the playoffs. Does this really mean that much for the Saints? It certainly has been an ugly showing on the field so far but they still have the personnel for a deep run in the playoffs. Obviously they have to get there first. Mark Ingram's injury is going to hurt our hot backfield, but we have decent replacements including Pierre Thomas. Can the pass defense improve? is the real question. Our schedule in the next few games should tell us.

till proven otherwise this is a team that cannot close out games.

The old "you are who your record says you are" is very true with the parody of the NFL

falcons are 1-1 and the bucs are 0-2 (I think)

panthers, sheet, I ain't even worried. They've lost their best defensive player, all their wide receivers...first sign of adversity, they'll implode

I think the thing 0-2 says most about this team is they probably aren't a championship caliber team. If you're a legit contender you typically find a way to win the close ones against inferior opponents.

I think it's bad due to the schedule looking tougher than it originally was.

It looks worse than it actually is, but it not good when your goal is HFA.

It isn't about the record, really.

0-2 usually means that you stink. Dallas started 0-2 back in the mid 90's and went on to win the Super Bowl one year. Emmitt Smith was out and 0-2 was not reflective of the quality of the team. It usually is.

This could be an 11-5/12-4 team still, or it might be an 8-8 team. We don't know.

What makes the Saints situation different is that we THINK that this is still an 11-5 or better team based on talent and past performance.

HOPEFULLY, the problems are defense are because of new players and poor communication that will be worked out.

I started 0-2 in my big money fantasy football league last year, and made it to the Championship game. Didn't win tho, lost by 40.
Saints will be ok.

I'm way more concerned about how we've looked against the level of competition we've faced than being 0-2.

If we look the same vs a vikings squad that may be one of the 3 or 4 worst teams in the nfl, than my concern will turn to depression.

Well instead of going 10-6 to make playoffs, we now have to go 10-4 to make them. If we just would have won one of those games it would be almost a non issue, but winning 10/14 is going to be tough.
