I've been in there a few times. Something is up. It looks like it is going downhill fast. Lots of for sale signs. One house has a Auction sign up. I was told it had termites, but I'm not certain.

My brother is selling his house in there. They just had another kid and need more room. Besides that he would of stayed.

We looked at a couple of houses in there before we bought where we did in April. I have a buddy that lives in there and they seem to like it

A few years ago it looked nicer in there. Now I see a lot more cars in driveways, unkept yards, windows with moisture problems, lots of for sale signs, just a different vibe I guess. I could be wrong.

Gugich, my brother and I both live in that neighborhood. It's no Woodlawn, but its similar to what Woodlawn was back in the 90's.

Seems like a nice place to raise a family. A lot of younger couples with young kids in there.

Liberal and idiots label everything they can as racist, truth be damned.

Place really blew up post-Katrina.

Very "transitional" neighborhood in that it attracts people that may have jobs that will require them to move again.

May be concerns about development along Pecue if the I-10 interchange at Pecue becomes a reality.

I hear people say this, but I don't get it. Any development on Pecue will not back up to the houses since the power lines are directly behind the properties.

My thoughts are that an interchange would be a big boost. As for developments, I'd say it can't be much worse than the houses that already line Pecue but then again, this is BR so who knows.

That, and Woodridge is very organized and will fight light hell for higher quality signage, significant lighting regulation, and ample buffers and screening between whatever goes up there and their neighborhood.

I would think a grocery store or Class A office space nearby would also bring up property values if done correctly. I know Whole Foods was looking for space on that side of town.

Obvviously an aprtment complex or Supercenter (unlikely) would not be desirable.

I am just trying to offer some explanations.

Before the upgrades to Pecue at Airline and Perkins, it was not as heavily traveled. Yes, there is that space between the roadway and neighborhood with the powerlines, but if it is not another filing for the neighborhood, then it could be retail/commercial, and some people don't like that backing up to their houses.

hey, let's keep building up that area with a hospital and other stuff and not 4 lane the pecue's & perkins until they become even more of a cluster frick.

when is the stumberg extension gonna be completed? that'll take care of the pecue between airline & jefferson.

It makes them feel better about themselves to say white flight is just racism in action.

I seriously doubt any major retail or office users will go up in front of Woodridge before the interchange is built.
