I may be the only one who really feels a major change, but they weren't joking when they said that the 1 on 1 battles would be much better and useful. I like to control the flow of the game, and this year, slowing down play and really taking a defender on feels amazing. For example, I gave a ball a light knock forward to my left from a standstill and then used a roulette back to my right, and the defender actually had animations for being shaken out of his boots. Hold up play is a real thing this year, and I love it. Keepers are noticeably better, especially against crosses in the box. They attack the ball instead of watching them sail a foot in front of them to an opposing player. I was so thankful to see the end of that when I learned that the Y button wasn't just to ensure that you get scored on. Hold it to attack close crosses in the box. Hold it to run out, and double tap to make him get back between the sticks. It's amazing how much pulling the keeper out a bit only to make them go back will force a terrible attempt at a chip shot.

I really feel like this may be the year where there isn't a single OP play style. It seems like the improvements to defending and AI have made it harder for people to just abuse their poor left bumper and Y button. Then again, I may hate it after being beaten by some kid in Argentina with Boca Juniors 50 times. I think it's on a good track though. Everyone I've talked to loves it.

What's everybody's favorite/first FIFA

My first FIFA and the reason I began to love the sport was FIFA 64. My favorites were in the 2007-2010 span. I just had so much fun playing those. I don't even remember if they were even that good, but United was so damned good on them. FIFA 99 was pretty revolutionary. I played the shite out of it on PS1. A lot of people like to claim that FIFA 13 was the best one ever made, but I hated it. It was a flat out pace fest. I like that they've slowed it down and made strength an actual factor in the game. 14's shooting was amazing, though. I find myself struggling to get off a really solid shot outside of the box. I guess that's a good thing, but I'm just not used to missing some of those shots. They amped up the "Do not sprint and shoot" feature big time.

EA has consistently failed horribly at their attempts to stop speed

instead of focusing on realistic things (like dribbling), they focus on making the game retarded with lightspeed CBs and no touch for ANYbody

last year it was impossible to play counter with the insane touch physics and crosses were unstoppable (esp off corners). your defenders would LITERALLY just get "stuck" and the offensive player would have a free shot

fifa 14 was dogshit horrible and unless EA reverse engineers the physics/gameplay, fifa 15 will just build on that dogshit
