RB in the NFL, as we know it, is slowly going away.

The days of a single player carrying the load in the NFL are limited

RB's are not going to command those large salaries anymore except for Adrian Peterson. QB is the key spot in the NFL, without one your not going to win a Super Bowl. You need 2/3 RB's to carry the load nowadays because the game and defenses are so fast and physical compared to the Emmitt, Dickerson, Payton, Sanders days where marquee RB's were more important than having a QB.

Makes me think of something else that NFL is probably looking for that LSU (and several other schools) provide....

A multi-task back. LSU doesn't really have "specialized" backs. They all have to be able to do pretty much all the tasks. And blitz pickup would likely be at the top of the list.

With that in mind, the "do what the team needs" attitude the coaches have can only enhance the appeal of an LSU back for NFL scouts.
