So it seems those ratings are for how much Mbps is capable. A N600 can do 300 Mbps across two bands simultaneously. I would assume this is what I would want (dual band, dual radio) ???

N600 minimum probably. Yes, it does 300 mbps across two bands simultaneously, but the reality is a bit more complicated, since actual throughput depends on the client device's capability (bands, number of antennae, distance). For example, your phone will likely only be able to do 150mbps, and only if it's on the 5ghz band. None of that really matters if you're just using a few devices for internet, though.
