Another point. When you open the Uber app and choose a pickup point (you don't have to enter an address; you can just accept the drop pin)the app shows the available uber cars nearby.

It also displays a time for your car to arrive (my last attempt showed three minutes). When you finalize the request it texts your driver's name and contact info. And it shows the car's progress on a map.

If there is any mixup, you can call him. You will necer get in a taxi again unless you have to.

no doubt. None of that is disputed. Uber is 1000 times better than a cab. Just saying it isnt significantly cheaper in BR. It's about the same. On gamedays its probably more expensive due to surge pricing, but I'd still use it over a cab.

This. Surge rate was x2.75 starting at 12am Friday night/Saturday this past week.

Worth it.

I can't say about surge pricing. It makes sense, though. However, you're not really comparing it to taxis anymore, because during surge times I just can't get taxis.

As far as it being the same price in Baton Rouge, I'm not familiar with that. But maybe it has something to do with what happened in New Orleans with Uber. The city finally relented, and let them operate in New Orleans, but only the more expensive versions of Uber. They didn't allow Uber X. That's the one that's way cheaper. Maybe BR did the same thing.
