Well why do people say a unit if it's not the same across the board? Why not just say $100 or $200?

it's just a measure of performance. some of us give amounts. im usually 75-150 a game

Because the value of the unit doesn't matter for the sake of the discussion. If I say I'm putting a unit on this game and 2 units on another game, I obviously feel twice as strong about the 2nd game. It allows us all to have a conversation about what we like and how much regardless of our budgets.
