I've flown for the past 2 days, and what I've seen is not "strong". We cut a couple of groups of bluewings in the flooded ag. north of Lacassine Pool and southeast of Welsh, but not much else. Those groups will probably make the survey better than last year, but that isn't saying much.

We counted maybe 1,500 on Catahoula Lake this morning, which was real disappointing because I was helping with a shorebird survey up there on Saturday and saw at least 5,000.

I have heard good reports from a couple of our banding crews in ag fields, a gator hunter, and another land-manager in central Louisiana. But what I've seen thus far on the survey would be "better than last year, but still pretty meager".

Mr. Larry, do they ever fly or do any kind of surveys around NWLA area?
