This was cool if it was nature taking its course, but for a tour guide to do this 5 feet from a boat and lure a pig to the gator is terrible.
Did yall notice the whole pack of pigs trying to save their lost brother?

That was tough to watch. And I've killed my fair share of hogs.

First time viewer.......one of the greatest things I ever watched.

Fired? Really? Bunch damn women on here. Tons of ppl poison hogs which is way worse if you ask me. frickers need to be killed, damn near anyway that is done is fine with me.

Not that I have a whole bunch of compassion for the fricking hog but that was pretty fricked up of those ppl

The question here doesnt revolve around a hog dying. But around the ethics of a tour guide, with out of staters in the boat, baiting a hog to a gruesome death.
Imo. It is unethical as a nature guide to create that scenario. It is unnatural and causes a bad image fir children and yuppies.
Had it been he and his drunk friends doing it, more lenient.
And ive thrown plenty moths into spider webs to watch the show
Had it been a fawn, yall wouldnt be screaming circle of life

Cool as frick, and I'm always rooting for the reptiles, but if that was a tour guide, he should be fired. That's a big attraction for the swamp tour people, and our guide was very careful when feeding the pigs. If any gators got anywhere close, he'd back off on feeding the pigs. That being said, I would love to have been there to see it. I've fed marshmallows to the big guy (the gator, not the pig) that is the star attraction on the Pearl River, and he was damn near as big as my boat.
In Dead River? He is a big one. How come Wagner and gang can feed them junk food?

I found that video disturbing. Not a fan of seeing any animal suffer like that. If this was just a normal video of a gator grabbing a pig naturally, I would have no problem. But, for them to bait the pig right in front of the gator like that, is my problem with it. I'm curious if LADWF will have any input on this.

I feel bad for the other gator that did no get to eat that day. Hunger is a bitch

Pearl River basin has some fricking monsters. Probably second to Marsh Island in size on the planet for gators.
Never cruised the Alabama river between Camden and Selma have you?

Nope, no laws were broken.

Can't say I have. I can say without question that the Pearl River basin is loaded with large gators.

If it was what you refer to as a "normal video of a gator grabbing a pig naturally" it would have squealed the same way. The guide's livelihood depends on people paying to get on his boat. He broke no laws (I think). Nature, although this wasn't 100% natural, is not beautiful all of the time.

It's not the squeal that I was talking about. I am well aware that the pig would still have squealed like that in a "natural" occurrence. At the same time I am sure there were some people on that tour that did not find this all to awesome. But, who knows?

Apparently, gators cannot resist marshmallows or rotting chicken.

Yeah - wild hogs are nuisance animals and can be taken during lawful daylight hunting hours. There's nothing in the rulebook that says you can't feed one to a gator.

I am very curious as to exactly what was disturbing about it?
Was it the fact that an animal whose population is booming at an exponential rate, damaging MILLIONS of dollars in habitat each year, was killed by one that brings in MILLIONS of dollars to the state through various avenues?
I am sure there are people that do not find that awesome. There are also men who enjoy to hold other men's peckers in their mouths, and others who prefer women with 4 chins that have
not bathed in 3 years. Doesn't mean we all have to agree. On the OB, I would assume folks would not get disturbed by one wild animal eating another.
