This guy on the bike was just going way too fast to avoid the wreck.

I agree. And I think people are getting too hung up on the issue of assigning blame here. What we ALL should take from this is to follow the speed limits and pay close attention to our surroundings no matter if we are on a bike or in a car. Bottom line is we all have loved ones and they all want us to arrive safe at wherever we're going and we want them same for them. That guy you see out there may just be an "idiot biker" or a "stupid cager", but to someone else they're daddy, brother, son, or husband.

Yep. A combination of mistakes by both drivers caused the wreck. No need to give an exact percentage.

i'm going to stereotype for a second here. (not directed at you darth...i know your type and i know you ride responsibly)

- immature 20ish year old (check)
- male (check)
- overhorsepowered bike (check)
- adrenaline issues - riding way too fast (check)
- generally a reckless bike rider who thinks his skills are MAD but doesn't consider basic laws of physics or that everyone else in vehicles isn't at his level of riding/driving/masterful accident avoidance expertise (check)

- spectacular high speed bike vs car death (check)
