Desmond Howard did it after a big punt return, in the final week of the season, against his school's biggest rival, at a time where it was largely considered that he was the Heisman front runner. All of those factors combined (along with Keith Jackson's "hellooooooo Heisman" call) made it a classic CFB moment. The impromptu nature for Howard makes it memorable. The rest of these guys (not just LF) who do it, just look like clowns. Timing is everything.



Exactly. It is amazing to me that this actually needs to be explained to people.

I'd bet most of these posters were still in diapers when that happened.
