the mechanics.
When you find one you will not have to suggest shite. If its a dealership most likely just a parts changer

See my last post with the pic in it. Lady had got fed up with the All Star dealership who went as far as sending it to North Carolina to a quality control department.
Took me 15 minutes to diagnose.
I've been out of the business for 8 years professionally.
I just have that "it".
Not many mechanics do.

I still dabble.
I have since moved on to a job in aerial photography.

Areola photography would be more interesting.

On the surface that would seem correct but after thinking about it for a little I would have to disagree. Most areola are ugly and bumpy.

Some GM vehicles that experienced that problem (Impalas) of no acceleration was a result of a throttle sensor that is mounted on the accelerator pedal. GM vehicles (and I guess other makes as well) no longer use an accelerator cable. The throttle is controlled electronically and the sensor (that's incorporated into the accelerator pedal assy) sends the signal. Don't know if Fords have such a sensor but maybe they do?

My Ford Escape 2010 had a similar problem.
Had to replace the throttle body.
Fixed it with no further problems.
If your engine is similar to mine, there may be a recall out on it. Look into it.

Can you people not read
Engine rpms are increasing but vehicle is not responding.
Transmission issue. Plain and simple.

Don't tell me to stahp. I'm just telling the OP I had the EXACT same problem. I thought it was a transmission problem, too.
It wasn't.
It was the throttle.

So. Your rpms would increase and decrease and it was the throttle position sensor on the throttle body

So they given it gas, the engine revs up but the car don't go?
Classic slip

Throttle body will not make car lose gear.

Solenoid controlling the torque converter sounds about right?
Btw. I got a sick fix you can use in your shop. Give me a minute to type it up.

Wife drives 2008 Ford Edge. 3.5l AWD.
Transfer case was blowing oil out of the vent.
Unserviceable unit.
I removed the lower transmission mount and exhaust.
Drilled 1/2" hole in a specified position. I'll send you a pic of where I drilled it later.
There is a fill plug but no drain.
Completely flushed out the oil which had became grease. Threaded the new hole and inserted a drain plug. Filled with Mobil 1 full synthetic 140 w 75.
Issue fixed.
All Edges, Explorers, Flexes and Taurus's have this same transfer case and are having major issues with them since the transfer case stays engaged all the time. When the sensors detect slip on a wheel the rear differential is locked in by a solenoid on the rear differential.

Damn

Most AWD systems will engage the transfer case when needed. The Ford units stay engaged all the time causing heat issues. Transfer case stays engaged, driveshaft spins all the time but the read dif. Stays unlocked unless told to lock by the PCM.
It's a fricked up design.
