I had the girl who feeds tell me a few weeks ago there was a brown recluse in the garbage can I store the horse's feed in. The next night she called about a black widow. I emptied the can out, used a broom to brush off all the webs I could from the entire can (the multiple egg sacks under the lip were a bit harder to get) and drug it to the washrack to kill everything with high pressure water and bleach. EIGHT brown recluse abandoned ship, one carrying her eggs on her back. Scrubbed the whole thing with a wire brush then looked down to see a godamn black widow on my shoulder. Screamed like a bitch and stripped in the barn aisle. The whole way home I kept thinking I felt things crawling on me.

All those spiders died, and I'm usually a save spiders kind of girl.

In law school, I went with a guy to his family's land where they had a bunch of tents and stuff for tailgating. It was way out in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, we opened up one of the garages and I've never seen so many black widows in my entire life. He acted like it was no big deal, grabbing chairs and tent bags. I kid you not, they were everywhere. I will never forget that day.
