quote:Exactly this. I missed the Rams picking Keenum up yesterday. That may take them out of the market for Griffin and they were the only real danger.
Rams have been the team with rumored interest, and they went with Case Keenum in the meantime. Maybe that has something do do with the timing.
I still think we would have made another move today had the Rams not picked up Keenum.

Yeah, I think the Saints wanted to sneak him on the practice squad

I hope someone picks him up, I like RG. If they don't think he's better than McCown why do they even care if someone else has him?

But now who will we trade for a pro bowl linebacker? Lorig?

Exactly.
They waited till most every team had there 53 and practice squad full, so now they cant add RG4.
Brilliant move IMO.

Would have been nice if he would have just let him go originally, would have been easier to land somewhere else.
This wasn't an accident; it was calculated to give the team the best chance to get him back to put on the PS. I have my doubts whether he'll make it there, or stay there any length of time.

He will be on the practice squad soon. It was less risker to wait after all teams have signed their practice squad players.

Yep, no way they wanted to risk losing the best third string QB in the league!

And that is why this guy makes the big bucks - a calculated risk that took a lot more patience than I have - I thought they were waiting until Tue to place someone on IR that would be eligible to return, but they obviously waited for the Rams to make a move at QB - once the Rams took Keenum, they exposed Griffin for 24 hours planning to sign him to the Practice Squad - rosters are pretty well set, so pretty good odds he clears waivers, but stil a risk - don't think I want to play poker with Lumas

They've spent two years developing the guy. Of course they'd like to keep him.

Posted on 9/3/14 at 1:30 pm to Meateye
So how much longer do we have to worry?
Posted on 9/3/14 at 1:32 pm to Meateye
They cut the wrong guy! Griffin is better than McCowan!
