If ever there was a time for Neck, it was in the 4th Qtr of that game. But the band was awesome as usual and a shout out to the very spirited student section surrounding the band

Well, I haven't heard the West Side Story bit in 2 or 3 years so we were about due I guess.
LSU played Tulane on Halloween night the year Michael Jackson died. Tulane's 100 member band played Thriller and even did the dance. Crowd really liked it.
What did LSU play....you guessed it, Songs from West Side Story

I wanted them to play this with a minute left in the game. After reading about the fights, I am glad they didn't.

Actually, I have never watched the Ohio St band's halftime routine, but I see the youtube links all the time, and am aware of the Michael Jackson routine, or the Nintendo program.
That's Ohio, bro. Not tOSU.

I usually catch the drummers warming up before the march to the stadium at least once a year. TubaQuake, or whatever it's called, has been a nice edition.

The Wisky fans in our area were amazed at the interaction between the band & the fans. They said their JumpAround is great, but that only happens one time a game. That our fans kept reacting to each & every song played during the rally, blew them away. One said that the band's pre game walk on the field made Ohio State's dotting of the " i " look highschoolish.

Don't they do it to piped in music? Not the same as interracting with the band.
The "Fourth Quarter" routine that their band does is pretty cool though.

could just be me, but I think folks who don't like the band or the tradition (much less dancing girls) and instead would prefer piped-in, digitally-recorded, eardrum-ruining, 3-chord, pop music (notwithstanding explosions and other, assorted, shiny objects) are the ilk of hoi poloi better served by drivel like the WWF or staying at home while plugged in to the interwebs awaiting their adderall refills.
Its just you. This post screams 'aimless anger.'

My mistake. Yeah, the OSU band is about the only band I'd put over tGBFTL right now. We really need to step up our performances. Pretty lame for the time being. Someone a while ago said they had some crazy show ideas this year, but I don't know where they got that info.

Halftime shows have been bad for a while now.
One song moving, one song standing still while the Golden Girls dance, then Hey Fighting Tigers.

Any reason why Wisconsin didn't bring their band?

Halftimes are for daughters and tradition fricking matters. Our band, despite bad halftimes and not playing Neck and whatever else, is badass and I wouldn't trade them for any other I've seen.
I've gone to hundreds of LSU games and I still get chills from the four corners before the game and beginning of 4th quarter (and used to, ya know, when the team/fans needed a boost during the 4th).
And Reliant/NRG sucks for bands. They think every second has to be filled with piped-in music.

I mean... I get what you're trying to say, but the halftime show is really the feature of the band. Their chance to shine and do anything they want. Why would you not want them to step it up and do crazy stuff?
