It may have been said in the first two pages of this thread, but when your first college game is against 8 and 9 man fronts, its a bigger challenge than expected. We are working in an inexperienced QB so our offense is conservative and everyone knows it...The more AJ is able to throw in first down, the easier life will be for both 18 and 7...
He will be just fine....

He was facing gaps that were filled as soon as they opened, if they opened at all. Developing a short and intermediate passing game will unload the box.

A lot of our growing pains will be coached away. It is like herding kittens to coach so many freshmen up to their potential by the first kickoff. This game provided a template of exactly what we need to work on.

One thing I liked about LF was that he punishes the first man or two that he reaches. Once they work out the bugs on screens and option timing he is going to go off. Big times are coming.
