I know the history, but it never seemed right with me when people said they were from Sherman Oaks/Woodland Hills/Encino/Van Nuys..etc...,California. Its very confusing...

Well, who says they're from "Santa Clarita"? They'll still be using the old names 50 years from now

when someone from LA asks me where I'm from/where i live, i tell them sherman oaks or the valley. When someone from out of town asks me the same question, i say Los Angeles.
