I saw this in the newspaper today. It's interesting to see how Miles compares among the other SEC legends. Let's win another title(s)

Gotta keep in perspective that the older coaches on the list didn't have 12, 13, 14, or 15 game schedules (depending if you make a conference title game or championship with the new playoff). They had less games to work with in their nine years.
Regardless, still a hell of a great list to be on. I love our coach despite all the times I've wondered what his record would look like without those inexplicable Ole Miss/Arkansas losses haha

Reminds me of Peyton Manning

Wouldn't this fact alone make his winning percentage even more impressive? Looking at the number of total games played is not what is impressive. It is his winning percentage

Without the rematch in 2011, Miles has a perfect season under his belt, two titles and that team goes down as one of the best in the history of CFB.
That one game, and Miles is nearly a unanimous all time best.
He'll get close to that with 1 more NC.

Yes I understand that, and you're correct in that. But this list pictured isn't ordered by win percentage, it's by total number of wins which is why I made that comment

Crazy to think about but totally true. That team would have beaten at least 4 teams in the top THREE much less top five and beaten three teams that made BCS bowls. Also 8 top 25's.
Plus how many times that year did we win or win with putting up 30+ points with less than 150 yards passing? That's insane to think about.

True enough BayouBengals327, but only two coaches on there have a better winning %. Ole Ball Coach and Phat Phil where most of their wins were in the 90's. Now compare the SEC back then when they were the only two good teams consistently and look at it now. It is not even close in anytime in SEC history except may 1957 to 1966. The 90's are arguably the worst decade in SEC history, at least in anybodies lifetime that is alive today.

Sorry I left Frank Thomas off. Damn 12 losses and 5 ties with 66 wins. Impressive

The fact that there exists a sizable portion of the Bengal fanbase that wants him gone, or at least disapproves of him, is the most inexplicable phenomena in all of college football.

That it good to keep in context

I know. Kinda like when my wife finally left me. Didn't realize how much I actually wanted her back until after a few months

Spurrier, Fulmer and Thomas had better win % than Miles. That's pretty good company.

No kidding, this actually makes me think I should shut up and give the guy a break. I'll never get past the time mgmt gaffs and 1/9/12. But goddamn that's impressive.

Plus, we beat teams with incredibly different playing schemes.
Oregon speed, spread and fine tuned fast paced offense on one end, Bama's deliberate power offense and stud defense on the other.
To be able to match up and beat every part of the spectrum of college ball was nearly unprecedented in my opinion.
In 30+ years of watching college FB, I have not seen anything quite like that.
