Assclowns like the author of the article love Jim Crow laws, they just don't know it.

do not have any specific knowledge of this situation, but I do understand what the kid is saying. The kid/author doesn't understand what makes Mr Allen, his good, black teacher, effective. It's not because he grew up in NO or because he is black. It is because he knows how to teach and how to get kids to learn.

I do have lots of experience working with Teach for America teachers. I actually was a regional monitor in Georgia for TFA teachers. 75% of them were inexperienced and very poor at teaching/learning.

The kid who wrote article is attributing to race what has little or nothing to do with race.

I believe this is the true explanation of what is at the heart of this kid's situation. All TFA teachers have good intentions, but very few have the proper skills to teach.

It still makes no sense to me to give a kid like this such a big platform. What's he done to deserve it? About the only teenager today whose opinion I would interested in is the Pakistani girl Malala, though I am sure there are other less famous kids out there who possess maturity and wisdom beyond their age.

The narrative I am seeing from the 'black community' is just that, separate, but not equal, as they are pushing for control of 'their world' and whites are not to be included.
another blanket statement pulled right out of a poster's arse.

I submit you have no idea at all what any "black community" thinks.

Also, from the tone of the replies here, no white family has ever reacted to having "too many" black teachers at a school.

You seem like a pretty reasonable liberal around here. Why do you feel the need to defend this student with this issue?

I'm attacking an awful poster who made ridiculous statements on here, and pointing out what white people do when faced by schools populated with minorities.

When did I defend the student?
