its already installed. his signal not strong enough to reach my camp. since the dish is close to my camp was wondering if i just hook splitter from the dish and run cable to camp and buy router it would work?

seriously you should probably just buy a $50 N-router and give it to your friend.
that splitter isnt going to work. he gets one IP address. if you wanted a wired connection, at a minimum you'd still need him to get a router with 4 ports and run a long ethernet cable.
