My dad lives in the sticks and has crappy internet service. He has a wireless network and an internet ready Visio TV. The problem is he has trouble streaming netflix over the wireless. I want to try to to connect to the router directly but he has no ethernet port on the tv. whats the best way to do this?

Roku 3 has an ethernet port. Probably the best option.

Or get the discontinued 2XS at half the price.

Or that. I thought there was another one, but I couldn't remember which model.

Hardwiring 100/1000Mbps over even wireless-g (going to be 20 Mbps in reality) isn't going to do jack if he's getting a lower Mbps from his provider.
IE, your speed is probably capped at the line of demark, not his internal network.
