I know Franktowntiger works there but has anyone built with them? Good experience or not? If I'm not mistaken they built some homes in Green Trails, any other places in BR where I can see their work?
And look I'd love to stay local but we are on a budget. TIA

There was a thread awhile back. You may want to do a search.

Yeah I read it and tried to reply but it's locked. Thanks for the tip though

What are you calling "on a budget". How big of a house are you looking for and what are you looking to spend?

Looking at 2200 sq ft, maybe $105/sq ft not counting the lot.

We looked into Schumacher back in 2011.They seem economical but they nail you on every little upgrade. We ended up contracting it ourselve. We didnt save any money but did quite a bit of upgrades that we wouldnt have been able to do paying a GC.Thats not for everybody though.Call Allen Samson in Denham.Dang good builder and very reasonable. He is super easy to work with as well.He built a house for me in 2008 in Watson.

That shouldn't be an issue with local builders. I would shop around a bit before you decide to go with a national builder. 2200 is living area right?

I have heard good things about the quality you get for your buck, but pay attn to your contract and get a good inspector

They are the Applebee's of home building. Horton is the Ruby Tuesdays. Go local or build a turd. Your choice.

In doing my own previous research people seem pretty meh on Schumacher homes.
I'd encourage you to interview several builders and look for someone with a good communication fit.(in addition to making sure they never got bashed on the OT) I went with our builder solely based on the fact that they and my wife understood each other.
Just Google home builders tigerdroppings and see a whole laundry list of discussions on this topic which will include the names of good local builders.

The Applebee's statement is laughable, we build custom homes that the customer and I often design from scratch.
