This always confuses me. If you want to get shitty, shouldn't you be pounding imperial stouts? Or better yet, just hit the bourbon.

I remember sitting next to a stranger at a bar who asked me why I drank all that "fancy beer." He said he just wants to drink beer to get drunk. I told him that my "fancy beer" would get him drink a helluva lot faster.

I definitely tend to get a lot more drunk at IPA Day than I do at Lager Day.

My thoughts exactly. "Fancy beer" is probably more cost effective for someone who is looking to get drunk too.

Yea, but ole dude probably couldn't get drunk on your fancy beer because he couldn't drink it. Your fancy beer to him it would taste like vile horse piss. Which is probably the same phrase you would use to describe his beer. But as long as each of you are enjoying your beer who gives a shite. The snob is the dude who looks down on the guy for drinking what he wants. I have zero use for that kind of snob.

Well, you conveniently didn't quote the last part of my sentence where I said late night at bars (helps me be a serviceable day drinker the next day).

But anyway, yeah of course craft beer gets you drunk. I routinely start off drinking craft then switch to light for a few reasons.

1. My taste buds get shot to hell after awhile.

2. Craft beer is filling. When I'm in the mood for quantity, light beer wins.

3. Price. This goes back to my first point. I'm not going to keep paying for the more expensive craft when I'm not getting full enjoyment. I do ok, but I'm no OT baller.

I realize some of yall are out of the bar scene, but drinking craft beer is a low priority when I'm looking to party.

If a restaurant doesn't have a craft beer I want, that's when I get a cocktail. If a friend offers me a light beer when I come over, I'll drink it cause we're hanging out. I like to have a good time and really don't care what anyone else drinks to enjoy theirs, either.
