bullshite. The interaction between Brown and the officer was plain old-fashioned low rent criminal behavior, responded to appropriately.
I'm still waiting for all the evidence on the initial confrontation. However, the police response to what happened afterward is a textbook example of the concerns many of us have about police overreach and overreaction. It's a miracle somebody hasn't been killed out there yet. Did you see the cop pointing the AR 15 at journalists saying, "I'll fricking kill you!?" That guy was totally out of control. Who was the real danger out there, the protestors or some nut waving a rifle around?
I'll also say that this is a town of about 20k. A few hundred people were in the street, and a few stores were looted. That's wrong, and it should be stopped. However, the whole town isn't burning down, there's no sign of it spreading, either in the St Louis area or elsewhere, seemingly to the disappointment of some on both sides who would like this to be about something bigger.
Widespred Riots were predicted if Obama won and if he lost. They didn't happen, and they're not happening here.

Maybe it's not a miracle and the police are generally acting more professionally than displayed by the media.

Uh, one side wants this to continue and be "bigger". The other side believes it should never have started and that it should be over.
