For younger employees too, it's always good to be ready to go if your boss wants to take you to a meeting, court, lunch, whatever.

At my firm, we're pretty casual in summer. We have a summer associate/law clerk who comes in only part time, but he wears nice slacks, loafers and button downs to class because he'll come in the office. Not all of our part time summer kids do that. Hence, if I need to pull someone into a meeting, it's gonna be that kid.
