If you want someone to thank for these hard lines being drawn, you can thank the jerkoff types that have repeatedly used valedictorian speeches and other secular, public platforms to espouse polarizing religious beliefs.
I'm sure many of you cheer them on regularly. This is the result. Two extreme types of idiot.

I tend to agree...but this assumes her banning this is religious in nature. Given there is a whole list of things students are told not to say in class, and only one of them has anything at all to do with religion, I'd say she has other reasons...as bad as they may be.
Setting it up as two sides of an issue gives those looking to suggest it's a religious issue ammo...much like the girl seemed to want. Given the list, it's far more likely she set up this list for other reasons, and someone felt the need to argue with her and attempt to play the "You're opposing my religious rights" card. Given she had already discussed this with her youth pastor, it seems pretty clear she was hoping to get either the teacher to back down or a reaction like this.
