There are 8 SEC games a year. Of those 8, 6 will be intra-division games. Of the 2 remaining conf. games, 1 will be against a permanent inter-division opponent. That leaves 1 rotating inter-division game. Thus, LSU will play UK just as infrequently as they will play UGA, USC, Mizzou, Tenn. and Vandy. It's the way the schedule is set up. It has nothing to to with "politics".
I'm tired of listening to LSU fans piss an moan about Bama getting to play Tenn., while LSU has to play UF. Over the history of the SEC, Tenn has been the second best program. Bama has caught a "break" when it comes to playing Tenn. every year not because the SEC office is located in Birmingham, but because Tenn. has completely fallen apart as a program since 2008 while Bama has rebounded since that time.
The reality is that if Tenn. was the perennial power that it was prior to 2008, you would not hear one complaint about the Bama/Tenn. game. I hate Alabama, but blame Tenn. for not keeping up their end of the bargain.

It's not that tenn sucks right now, it is that while we play UF, UGA, SC, Bama gets vandy,KY,UT

Lsu fan here. Don't care who bama plays. Gainesville is a dump, give us uga or usce as our perma then.
Or play a 9 game schedule and rotate the teams like every other conference. How hard is it to wrap your head around?

To me, it has jack shite to do with Bama. I could care less about their cupcake schedule every year, it just makes us look better when we earn championships on the field.
But I'd rather we be able to play the other East teams more than once every 8-12 years. I'd like to make a road game to every SEC school but that's rather difficult under the current format...you miss once and might not have the chance again for a long time.

Due largely to the fact that Bama would have gotten it discontinued.

The only relevant time period for your evaluation is from 2002 forward since that was the year the conference changed the format that was used from 1990 because it wasn't fair to have two permanent opponents. You might be "tired" of LSU not liking getting shafted by the schedule, but LSU is just reiterating the same argument that the conference found persuasive in 2000 when they changed the format last time.
