How so?

Really? He had one foot out the door wanting the better gig. He was involved in the "plane gate", where the Auburn boosters going behind "Tuberville back. Plus, he left a mess with players that had major academic and issues off the field.

I am as big a Coach Tub fan as you will ever find. I think Petrino is as big a scum bag as you will ever find. Petrino had zero part in that. Our boosters flew up there to talk to him. It wasn't his doing. He deserves absolutely no blame in that.

Same thing happened here. We had a ton of guys get booted or leave in 2012 and early 2013 for off-field issues, and our APR was in the toilet when Petrino got canned, so much so that we were in danger of sanctions when Bert got hired.

Petrino is a good in-game offensive football coach, but he can't sustain a program, and it's telling that he's never had the same job for more than 4 years. He can't recruit or evaluate character (or non-QB/WR/DL talent) for shite, and it's why nearly 60 kids got booted, left, washed out, or plain quit from his four classes here. Most of the ones still on the roster can barely get on the field, and it's why Bert was stuck playing so many freshmen last year and will again this year. People crap on Les Miles and try to give Saban credit for all of LSU's success, but at least he's sustained a great program for a decade.
