Exactly, I had a coach one season that made us do full offseason/powerlifting workouts on mon-thur during the season and he wondered why we were always hurt and complaining. Next season a coach that only made us do light workouts and we won 5 games more the next season with far fewer injuries.
The offseason is where your son will make his strides in strength and muscle mass.
