Nothing that Brown did prior to the event gives the policeman the right to murder him. Everybody agrees with that, at least I hope they do. But Brown's past does go to his(Brown's) state of mind as the incident unfolded. If he had just committed a crime and a cop stopped him, it would explain why he acted the way the cops said he id. If he had harmed others prior to the event with the cop, it would also lead me to believe he was a violent person. None of this gives anyone the license to kill, but it might go to explaining Brown's actions that day.
This is spot on!

So, the past is irrelevant when it comes to crime, but not when you want to take out a mortgage. Got it.

THe cop didn't even know he had robbed a convenience store. He tried to grab him from inside his cop car - which has to be about the dumbest fricking move I've ever heard of coming from a cop. If he had secured him - what then? You're inside the car, the suspect is outside - WTF now? SOunds like a Reno/911 moment to me.
Your blatant denial of the facts is astounding. Everything you said there is so far off base it's not funny.

Not relevant.
Robbery - relevant not because of why encounter was initiated, but as possible explanation for Brown's actions/reactions to police.
Pot in system - only relevance is if there was enough in Brown's system to make him paranoid, thus heightening his reaction to the police encounter (and, the whole "pot makes the user mellow" argument is shot to shite by the store video).
Again... we are being fed bits and pieces of information by BOTH sides. Conclusions should wait until all the FACTS are known.

Their house would be burned to the ground.
If you had a family member who was murdered, would you really keep this to yourself out of fear? Besides, if you're that much a coward, why not just put release the details of the charge anonymously? Certainly all of Brown's classmates would have known about this, and I don't believe a information of this magnitude could be kept secret in the internet age.

Then you'd agree, the thoughtful article you posted is a smear article then, with the claims in it?
No. That "article" was actually a column and is meant to share opinion. I don't necessarily agree with all of his opinions in it, but many were thought provoking and well reasoned. The tweet in your OP is presented as fact with nothing to substantiate it. There is a huge difference in the two items you're trying to compare.

None of this stuff is relevant in a court of law.
You can't impugne character or previous crimes to make him now guilty.
Seems like a lot of people are condoning potential murder because of character.
We don't know what happened in this particular instance. But saying he was a bad guy...means nothing.
Officer could be a bad guy too...in this particular instance...and the bad guy could have been surrendering.
None of his previous shite matters legally. It's like blaming a rape victim because she was a slut.

Any confirmation on this? I'm not seeing anything on the googles
This reminds me of the internet gossip about Trayvon Martin having a crow bar and a bolt cutter on him when he was murdered.

True.
Problem is that one side is getting their version out and trying to shut out all conflicting information under the premise of "waiting for the truth."

When did that happen? I don't recall anyone being convicted of murder for that incident.

Worse. He had Skittles and Arizona Watermelon tea. We all know what that means.

i did a google and found that michael brown was a rhodes scholar, peace corps volunteer, eagle scout, attending divinity school, loving son and father, started a charity for orphans, adopted 2 orphans, nominated for nobel peace prize....
are you sure this is the same michael brown?

So a defense attorney couldn't use Brown's past record and the past records of his "associate" to paint a self defense theory at trial???????

The article implies the event was a racially based one of police vs the black man.
The tweet in the OP states a potential news tip and that it is yet to be confirmed.

False, FAIL...take your pick
We know he robbed a stored and roughed up the employee
The police were notified of suspect's description.
"Get out of the street"
Brown walks over to cop vehicle, strikes the officer and tries to get his weapon.
Brown ran, then turned and ran back towards the policeman (taunting, "you're not going to shoot") was then shot 6 times.
Blame it on pot I don't know, but this isn't going to go well for black people defending Brown.
Character matters, your actions matter...and your words might no help matters...

This board and the rioters and looters and Sharpton and the rest of the instigators pushing for civil unrest aren't a court of law either.

No. Especially considering the officer wasn't even aware of his past.

Let's add "taunting while black" to the list!
