And to have that cash, they must find someplace else to cut corners.”
What a bunch of shite.

I'll give them a bunch of cloth diapers. They'll probably turn them down because they'll have to wash and reuse them instead of just throwing them away. Simple, cheap and effective...and probably racist somehow.

With choices, comes responsibilities. You had a baby, it's your job to make sure they get what they need. Somehow I'll end up paying for it in the end.

Why can't people understand that the former is caused by the latter?
When you subsidize something, you shift out demand which causes quantity and price to increase.

Oh the horror. What racist, backwards, cold hearted misogynist som bitch came up with the idea that women have to pay money for a product too, and that they may have to sacrifice expenditures elsewhere to afford it?
WE NEED SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR THIS ATROCITY

Eventually these welfare supporters will figure out how to start using transferable tax credits to give welfare out to the masses.
Nobody will be able to complain because it'll be at "no cost to the tax payer."

Sorry. At some point, your kid isn't my problem.

Sounds reasonable to me. I'm surprised we aren't already doing this.

People should be given cash to do with as they will.
Anything else leads to underground economies & non-efficient markets.
