Times-Picayune story revealed on Wednesday that a man was shot in the head during a traffic stop more than two days earlier, NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas apologized to the public, calling the failure to disclose the shooting "a complete snafu."

shite is quickly coming to a tipping point...

While I don't agree with the looting and arson in Fergusson, the heavy handed police response to reporters and peaceful protestors is being shown to the American public who have kept their heads in the sand.

My only issue with this deal is that the criminal is still alive. He has a lengthy rap sheet and they were looking for him from a crime last week. Serpas' crew needs more time at the gun range.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this. By all accounts the man shot was unarmed, the officer who fired the shots was the one that issued the warrents for his arrest and had an a "fight"(Serpas word) with the victim/suspect two days earlier.

quote:

Campbell asserted that Bennett and his brother claim there was no physical altercation before the first shot was fired. That first shot, which struck Bennett, prompted him to run to his relative's house nearby, Campbell said, adding that the brothers allege the officer fired the second shot while Bennett was fleeing.

"There was no scuffle with the officer," she said. "They were ordered at gunpoint to get out of the car and that's what they were doing."

Serpas said it was too early in the investigation to comment on "what the attorney thinks."

This should be the end of Serpas, IMO. Mitch clearly doesn't have the backbone to do what needs to be done, at least get a police chief in that will. Serpas is a fake lackey.

I was waiting for this story to show up here. I heard about it on the radio a couple days ago. I think it may have been a female cop. What color were cop and perp?
