The owner showed up and hauled it off. I believe that was him in the first pic.

There have never been buffalo in North America.

Early American settlers called bison “bufello” due to the similar appearance between the two animals, and the name "buffalo" stuck for the American variety. But it's wrong.

The American bison (Bison bison) lives only in North America, while the two main buffalo species reside in Africa and Asia. A small population of bison relatives called the European bison (Bison bonasus) lives in isolated parts of Poland.

A Bison would kick a buffalo's arse all day long.
Buffalo are kinda beta

Differences in Physical characteristics
• Bison have a hairy fur coat on their body which grows thicker in the winters as a protection from the rugged environment they live in. Buffalo do not have thick fur.
Bison have very sharp horns which they use for their defense. A buffalo's horns aren't very sharp but are longer than a bison's.
• Bison have a huge hump on their back which Buffaloes do not have.
Bison also have a thick beard that circles around their rib cage but Buffaloes do not have a thick beard.
A Bisons' temperament is associated with its rugged structure and it can be a very aggressive animal when threatened, Buffaloes on the other hand are peaceful animals. This is also the reason why it is domesticated.
• Buffaloes grow up to 5 feet in size while Bison may grow to 6 feet.
Bison can run faster than Buffaloes.
• Buffaloes can weigh between 800-1200 kg while Bison can weigh up to 1400 kg.

I was legitimately kind of scared. They ran and grunted EVERYWHERE they went while on my property.

That was an impressive 7 min. delayed double post!!

I've seen the bison around Marksville. There's also a horse trainer down around Church Point that has a herd. All of his fence is welded drill pipe.

That Bison is going to cost him a pretty penny in hospital bills and lost wages.

Alx doesn't LA still have some goofy loophole law due to old open range laws not being completely removed or some such that basically means the livestock owner gets sued by the car driver for not controlling his heard but the car driver gets sued by the livestock owner too for loss of property?

That wasn't the case when our bull was hit. It was our fault 100%. SOB broke through 3 fences to get to a hot cow on the other side of the road

Not sure about this. Buffalo are also pretty badass creatures. I sure wouldn't want to be between the two.
