Home Phone Caller ID shows Calls from Home Phone!!!

Or so I initially thought. Then I read on the interwebs that they can now fake the ID to show your phone number.
Bastards! I really was spooked for a bit.

Yup. Found several recent articles explaining the new phishing scams that use this little tactic to get you to answer the phone.

Ive been able to call anyone and have ANY # I want show up on their Caller ID for YEARS now! Its easy as pie: LINK

It's pretty clear. My home phone caller ID had calls from my home phone.
Phishing scam artists have the ability to put any name and number in the caller ID.

Thats nothing. If you call 911, make someone elses # come up and say there is a hostage situation SWAT HAS to raid their home. Google "swatting", it happens almost daily but its rarely on the news because LE doesn't want people to know how simple it is.

I saw that movie which is why my damn brain went into fear mode until I realized if they called from within my house they would get a busy signal thus no caller ID.
