Why would anyone use traditional duct work instead of this even in new homes? Cost for multiple units?
exactly. Multiple evaporators are going to cost much more than a single one. I'm also guessing a single large unit will be more efficient.

What kind of money did this take-if you don't mind? I have no idea. Our master BR only has one vent( 1970) in it so it takes too long to cool down. Your setup sounds ideal.

I'm interested in cost for installing one in an enclosed patio.

not too hard, unit $1500, $500 to install (or less)?

Home Depot has cheap ones.

I installed most of it myself, $200 for a/c company to download the tubing connection,pressure/leak check, vacuuming, and commissioning. That was an overtime rate because it was around 5pm. Mine is a single unit 9000 BTU with heat pump.
