Wow! Really? The kid is a TRUE freshman. He has yet to play a down of college ball and we're wondering why he isn't leading the defense? C'mon, man!
He will get his chance. As far as "tools", I've heard nothing but people raving about how good he has looked. He has the skills, just give the guy some time to learn. If our defense was so simple that a true freshman could pick it up enough to be the starting MLB in a matter of weeks, then I would be concerned.

Bc we have a good oline and good backs.
We should be able to run the ball and qbs with CC coaching them swhould be good enough.. obv not ZMett but good enough to compliment our running game.
Defense was borderline embarrassing at times last year.
Until I see somethng to prove that we have moved on from 2013 Im concerned.
WHo cares if we avg 30 on offense if we give up 31 a game on D?
